The NBA handed Paul Pierce a $25,000 fine today for making “menacing gestures” during Saturday night’s playoff game with the Atlanta Hawks. Boston GM Danny Ainge said that the sign Paul Pierce made was not gang related, and it was merely three fingers that he holds up to symbolize “blood, sweat, and tears.”
Translation, Paul Pierce was fined for making a gesture that white people don’t understand. If he had flipped the bird at Al Horford, David Stern wouldn’t have batted an eyelash.
These pictures are another example of white people not understanding a simple common gesture. The one seen below (hat covering the face) means “Bitch don’t take my picture.”
