DENVER - Most professional athletes were at one point in their careers successful two-sport stars. Former cheerleader now a Crush lineman Aaron McConnell was one of these special athletes who excelled in two sports at Pittsburg State University.
One of the sports he turned into a professional career as a football player. The other sport McConnell won a national championship as a cheerleader for the Gorillas. A sport that is hard to picture a 6-foot 3-inch, 300 pound football player participating in.
McConnell was part of the Gorillas cheerleading squad that won the Division II national championship in 2001.
I don’t know about you, but I was more shocked that this dude was a cheerleader, than the fact that he’s now an offensive lineman. He must have been laying pipe with one of the girls on the squad, and she had him so whipped that she made him cheer, right?
Does anyone know if Elway is still running the show at this place? This is the same organization that employed a pornstar on their dance team.
