If I ran Hollywood, movies would be nothing more than 90 minute compilations of the best damn pep talks I could find. Who the hell cares about some dude having a rough childhood, and defying the odds to go on to win the Heisman and then murder his wife? Wait, that really happened?

Well my point is, just give me the ra-ra speech and I’m happy. I don’t care about character development and the underdog story. Just give me a few good speeches, and then send me on my way so that I can go home and convince my buddies that we should start playing in the YMCA men’s hoop league again.

Since Hollywood, won’t be handing me the keys to the front door anytime soon, I thought I’d put together a montage along these lines, but without the montage. Basically, it’s my top five motivational speeches from sports movies of all-time. Who’ll be number one? Find out after the break.

5 - Rudy (Locker Room)

4 - Hoosiers

3 - Rudy (leave it to a janitor to get you pumped up).

2 - Slapshot

1 - Any Given Sunday
