monster cow

I know what you’re thinking, but trust me these aren’t Photoshopped. These “Monster Cows” are actually Belgian Blue Cattle and they are a breed which suffers from a deficiency of myostatin. Due to this genetic defect, these cows grow to be extremely muscular and look like the bovine equivalent of Flex Wheeler.

Now I’ve never enjoyed a steak from a Belgian Blue, but my gut instinct tells me they wouldn’t go over well at backyard BBQ. After all, they have less fat of your standard Angus (source), and guess what contributes to most of that savory flavor in your favorite cut of meat? You guessed it – it’s all that marbled fatty goodness that wants to clog up your ticker.

After the break, more pictures of this freak of nature.
