Well, that went just the way I expected. Since most of you are at work/drinking in a bar, let me recap the Erin Andrews Oprah interview for you…
Erin stated that she was taped in two locations and has a stalker. She was able to identify one of the locations, and is upset the that the media coverage was focused on her being nude as opposed to catching the peeping Tom. She also said that in one of the videos, she was getting ready for a college football game.
Law enforcement pretty much told her that she was going to have to deal with the fact that it’s is impossible to remove the video and pictures from the Internet, as they’ll just continue to pop up.
Oprah then went on to ask the audience to think about how they would feel if someone filmed them bending over their tub. It wasn’t a pretty thought, considering Oprah conjured up images of herself in the nude. Thanks O!
Aside from that it was the same old stuff, and as expected nothing ground breaking.
So I know you’re biting your nails wondering what my take on this is…
Well, the “two room” statement sticks out in my mind because the only portion of the video montage that looks different is when she was ironing and looking at her cell phone/text messages. During that clip the light from the window in the background basically whites out everything but Erin in the video. So the only way she’s establishing that, is if she recalls that in room #1 she didn’t iron in the nude or check her cell phone messages in the nude.
Her assertion that someone called her and told her to look at a video on the Internet because everyone was saying that it was her doesn’t make sense to me. Nobody mentioned her name in reference to the video until after ESPN’s legal eagle fired off a letter to NSFWPOA. Sure there were people talking about it, but I’ll tell you right now that it was a small circle of people and nobody was going to put themselves at risk of litigation by claiming that the “hot blond” in the grainy video was Erin Andrews. So everyone kept their mouths shut and waited for the video to disappear with the famous Lindsay Lohan porno “that is just a Lindsay look alike.”
So if in her statement Andrews was referring to before the ESPN letter, she’s telling a white lie with shades of gray, because like I said nobody was talking about this. Now if she’s making reference to after the letter was sent out, that means that ESPN acted on their own to basically exploit her. If that’s the case, she would have sued them by now because why the hell would you want to work for someone who would do that to you? I know I wouldn’t, and for someone who just did an interview with Oprah to show the other victims out there that they don’t have to hide their faces, I don’t think Erin Andrews would either.
So the saga continues. Next stop, the arrest.
