After an inauspicious exit from the playoffs in the second round, the Lakers are left wondering if the championship window for their current team has been slammed shut. Their GM, Mitch Kupchak sure seems to think so, as he has promised that the team will undergo a renovation after dropping the 2nd round series to the Oklahoma Thunder.
He’ll be meeting this week with Kobe Bryant at Kobe’s home in order to discuss where the team needs to go in the near future, to which Kobe will probably reply something like, “I need to shoot the ball a lot more and pass even less than I already have.”
At least Andrew Bynum won’t be straying too far. The team will pick up a $16 million option on the dominating center to ensure that he’s around for another year. I wonder how he feels about that.
