It’s always a tricky situation when a likable player (especially one who cut his teeth in small markets) goes to play for one of the divisive big guys. So, when it was announced that Steve Nash would be finding his way to the Los Angeles Lakers, it’s been met with some anger, some relief, and a little confusion.

While I’m no Laker fan, the idea of Nash getting a ring is a nice one, provided he can find a way to make himself integral to the team, and doesn’t just ride the pine all the way to a ring. The Lakers are in a bit of flux, and Nash brings to the team a fair amount of leadership, and does it in a drama-free fashion relative to Kobe Bryant. I don’t know what kind of minutes he’ll be putting up, but given the choice between having Steve Nash on your team and not having Steve Nash on your team, you want Steve Nash on your team for sure.
