It’s pretty understandable that Phelps’ mom would incorrectly think that he scored the gold in a race. I mean he’s Michael Phelps, so everyone’s default position is that he’s going to win. So when he only managed a silver medal in the 200-meter butterfly, she starts celebrating a little too hard until she realizes that it’s only a second-place finish.

There needs to be a new category of first world problems. “Michael Phelps Problems.” Like “only got 17 gold medals this Olympiad.” Hard to feel too sorry for him, but the video’s pretty damn funny.
