Happy Friday guys!

Before I get started with my column, thought I would spend some time on the pics I chose to include today. A little walk down memory lane. The one where I’m wearing the black thong my (now roommate) took of me just a couple weeks after I moved down to California. Yeah, I know what you’re probably thinking – I prefer myself a lot more blonde too. Didn’t much care for that mousy color either. The crazy thing with that shot is that she had one of her lights behind this grate — which ended up casting this weird shadow on me, which I’ve never really cared for. Guess we both had a lot to learn back then. This pic never made it into my portfolio – probably because I didn’t care for that shadow.

The second candid pic of me in the car, is back in the day up in Oregon, a number of years ago. That was the day my friend drove me to get the tattoo I have on my lower back. I had her take her camera, and being the silly person that I am – I remember demanding that she take one of my lower back as a “before” and then the same shot “after”. Don’t know what happened to the “after” shot, but found this one. Can’t believe I’m posting this one. And god help me with those jeans. Yeah, I was a little heavier than I am now — but thankfully I didn’t loose my booty when I got in shape!

So of the questions sent in this week, I’ve decided to unearth another one that my friends and I seem to always be asking each other – what turns us on? And I”m not talking light bulbs here guys. I think I’ll end up writing a small novel if I list everything that turns me on, so I’ll just pick something that for one reason or another I’ve been thinking about recently. And yeah, I probably really could write a novel of things that turn me on – I’m not ashamed to have such a incredibly large list.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend as I did. Going to start off today’s article with a little side information. In order to put a stop to some posts here on DC by basically one individual claiming I’m somehow not real — and I’m not sure what part of the fan sign I made for DC, which has been posted here, he missed exactly. Or is he claiming I really didn’t lose my leg?

Seriously, WTF, why would anyone want to make that up? I’ll have two legs again any day, thank you very much – so I’m not about to pretend that I have one. What makes me laugh is that why, if I’m not “real”, is he continuing to read my posts here on DC? Have to laugh at that one. I’m at a loss as to which part of me isn’t real.

Perhaps I’m the love child of Elvis and Wilma Flintstone? Or, maybe I’m the lost daughter of Michael Jackson. It’s early and I think I’m not quite ready to deal with such deep philosophical questions. As much as I don’t really care to even address such silly claims, I took a couple self-shots of me getting ready this morning – assuming this person didn’t believe I lost my leg and that’s the thing that isn’t “real” about me. Now, probably this person will claim it’s really a picture of Elvis in drag. Well, I like to think I have much nicer boobs than Elvis ever did, even in his “large” days. If this isn’t real enough for you, I can’t help you. On to the post for day….

I’m not shy about much of anything. Don’t quite know where that came from, but I’ve always been that way. I’m glad I was built that way, because worrying about what other people are thinking drives people insane – and in the case of southern California, drives people to their plastic surgeon’s office to have their faces pulled so tight so they look, well, bizarre. I’m not saying I’m not curious what people are thinking, I just don’t care very much if they’re thinking good or ill about me. My friends tell me I’m a liar – that everyone cares what other people think. Maybe, but I’m one of the lucky ones who doesn’t lose any sleep over it. This quality has come in handy since my amputation, to say the least.

This week’s question comes from the fabulous DonChavez.com reader, Omar.

“So aside from a few changes to your modeling career, and a couple adventures you’ve had, how has having one leg really affected your life so far?”

Of this week’s questions from the ranks of the Vezaholics, I chose the following from “gibbs12″ :

“Do pick up lines change when guys notice you qualify for the shoe discount?”

I’m assuming you really mean when guys find out that I have one leg. Don’t think many men out there are all that curious about deals on shoes! I really don’t go out to clubs/bars and the like without my prosthesis on very much, but I have on a few occasions On those nights, I really haven’t noticed that the pick-up lines themselves change all that much versus when I go out with my prosthesis on. What I do know, however, is the pick-up lines guys use are largely really pathetic! Sorry guys, but it’s true. Take my column this week as your college class on how to approach a woman – which may help you a lot the next time you’re out at your neighborhood hangout. If it does — by me a drink the next time you see me at a bar as thanks.
