Ouija Board Shows up the Boys

Ouija Board

5 year old mare Ouija Board scored a victory in the $688,000 Prince of Wales’s Stakes today, with a half length victory over Electrocutionist.  Ouija Board went off at the juicy odds of 8-1, and covered the 1 1/4 Mile turf race in 2:06.92.

Ouija Board is being pointed towards the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf event in October at Churchill Downs.

She’s one of the best damn mares out there - actually turf horse regardless of sex - on the international scene in recent years.

Reminds me of the great Pebbles from the early 1980’s and who died just last fall. The Guinness drinking gal who traveled with a gelding in tow (his sole purpose was to keep her happy) and kicked butt in the very first Breeders’ Cup race, held at Belmont, against the boys as she did so often. Class act all the way!

It is a shame that Ouija Board’s newest rider (Christophe Soumillon, her 7th riders in her career) put in what most considered to be one WORST efforts ever given to her in her life in the Eclipse Stakes. The twit deserved a red card as much as fellow frenchman Zinedine Zidane.
