Make Money

Lately I’ve been receiving emails from readers and other website owners asking for advice on how to make money with a blog. I hardly have enough time to manage all of my websites, work my regular job, and answer each email individually, so I decided to put together this resource page for you.

Step One: Sign up for webhosting at BLUEHOST

Having a great webhost is extremely important if you plan on making money with your site. Previously I used Yahoo Webhosting, and everytime I had a big surge of traffic my site would crash. I would waste an hour of my time explaining the problem to customer service, and then would have to wait 3-5 days for them to resolve the problem. In the meantime, I was losing money because my site was not live.

I highly recommend BLUEHOST to you. It’s cheap, reliable and you can host multiple websites for as little as $6.95 a month. Your BLUEHOST account will come with everything you need, and installing a Wordpress blog is as easy as a few clicks of the mouse. CLICK HERE TO SIGNUP FOR BLUEHOST.COM NOW.

Step Two: Content is King

The key to the success of your blog is the content. Keep your content unique and fresh. If you routinely post only once a week, then chances are your readers will only visit your site once a week. Try to get in the habit of posting at least three times per day (or more) and it will help to increase your
traffic.

When choosing a niche for your site, make sure to do your research. Donchavez.com originally started out as a horse racing blog. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I wasn’t going to make any money writing about horse racing. After all, the majority of horse racing fans use the computer to print out their racing forms, if that. Recently, I changed the niche of Donchavez.com from horse racing to sports, babes, and gossip, and guess what happened? I finally had substantial traffic and started making money!

Step Three: Traffic

Even if you are the best blogger/struggling writer in the world, your site won’t make any money unless you have traffic. Basically there are three ways to get traffic:

  • Organically - People go directly to your site or through search engines
  • Paid - You’re rich and decide to advertise your site
  • Referrals - Other sites link to you, basically telling their readers that your site is worth a visit.

For more detail on these topics, I suggest you poke your head into the forum at Digital Point

Step Four: Monetize

Okay, now the fun part. Making money! There are plenty of ways to make money with your blog. I suggest that you use a variety of ads from the following networks to get the best results.

Google Adsense:

Pay per click advertising through Google Adsense is the bread and butter for most websites. The great thing about this program is that you know you are going to get paid. The downside is that you don’t get paid until you have generated $100 in commission. Click the button below to sign up for Google
Adsense.

Adbrite:

Hands down, Adbrite has been the best network that I have used. They offer a variety of different ad types and you can control the price of ad space for your site. If you use one and only one advertising network, Adbrite should be it. Click the button below to sign up for Adbrite.

Rocket Profit:

I’ve tried a handful of affiliate marketing networks, but the one I’ve stuck with is Rocket Profit. My affiliate rep is very responsive and always there to answer my questions. They are constantly rolling out new offers, some of which are exclusive to the Rocket Profit network.

Fling and Cam With Her
If your target demographic for your site is men ages 19-49, you will do very well with these sites. I know I have. An added perk to the Fling affiliate program is that they pay out every two weeks. Most programs are net 30 days, or longer!

As far as Cam With Her is concerned, you’re basically promoting Brianna Frost who is an Internet sensation. There are still people out there who have no clue who she is. Trust me when I say that this girl’s videos are viral.

This should be enough to get you started. This page is a work in progress. I’ll continue to update it when I have time, and as I figure out new ways to make money online.
