Hi CBS research team. Congratulations on finally doing some research and I’m assuming landing on this site. You’re assumption that this is a sports blog is flattering but I prefer men’s entertainment portal, because we cover everything and anything that’s remotely entertaining or repulsive.

My only question is why are you guys interviewing that guy in the cool black t-shirt? Why not go right to the guy who has been covering this story from day one? Just because this guy knows how to plug in “goblazers1″ in pipl.com and Google doesn’t make him an expert. Oh, and what was that expert insight he gave – the inside job/ESPN cameraman theory. Where did he pick that up, TMZ?

My favorite part of this video has to be the dude from Wired with his cellphone. Mystery solved, it had to have been an ESPN crew member with a Blackberry.

Seriously, these clowns are making me feel like Agent Smecker – minus the cuddling with dudes part.

It was only a matter of time before the second hottest sportscaster in the U.S. was asked to chime in on the Erin Andrews peephole video scandal. No I’m not referring to you Mariotti – go back to making those Direct TV commercials. Wait that’s not you?

Of course, I’m referring to Heidi Whatney…

Watney, who phoned in from Texas where the team took on the Rangers, said Sox traveling secretary Jack McCormick has taken some extra measures to secure her room and all the players’ rooms. She also said he’s hired extra security.

“My boss just jokingly told me to use the hotel robe,” said Watney, who said she hasn’t seen the scandalous online footage. “I did cover the peephole.”

So maybe now MSM can spin this into there being a serial sportscaster peeping tom on the lose. He doesn’t have a job, but he has the money and time to travel around the country following sportscasters and peeping on them through the peephole in the door.

Suddenly the storyline in the Erin Andrews peephole video scandal has shifted from Erin to those reporting it. Why? Because there is so much misinformation out there, it’s ridiculous. The reporting of this story by the mainstream media is mediocre at best.

So let’s do a little fact versus fiction of our own here…

It’s Monday morning, and we are nearly one week into the Erin Andrews peephole video scandal. For those of you lucky enough to be without a computer this weekend while enjoying some nice Summer weather, read these posts for a recap of what has transpired thus far.

Over the weekend, this scandal has set the Internet on fire with people searching for the videos. Erin Andrews related search terms have been dominating Google Trends for the past few days, and even “Aaron Andrews” has crept his way onto the charts. As a result, opportunist saw this as a chance to start infecting computers with malware (see the story on Sophos) by creating fake pages that claimed to have the Erin Andrews peephole video. In a way, I guess it’s sweet justice seeing as you’re looking for a video that violated someone’s privacy.
